Digital SAT
The SAT is a standardized test widely used for Undergrad College admissions in the United States and top colleges in other countries and in India. It is an entrance exam used by most of the top colleges and universities to make admissions decisions.
Since March 2024, all students taking the SAT at international test centers are taking the digital test. The College Board had made this change for better test taking experience and to meet the evolving needs. The digital SAT is easier to take and relevant. The digital SAT has to be taken on computers, but it cannot be taken from home. The digital SAT will be administered in a school or in a test center with a proctor present

The College Board, an American not-for-profit organisation conducts the digital SAT.
The College Board will launch the digital SAT by March 2023 for India and other countries except USA.
The College Board will discontinue the paper pencil SAT once the digital SAT is launched.
pre-test questions on the digital SAT are unscored ones but students will not know which are pre-test questions. Therefore, students have to consider all the questions as scored ones.
Total duration of the digital SAT is 2 hours 14 minutes excluding the breaks.
The composite score of the digital SAT ranges from 400 to 1600 which is as same as the paper pencil test.
No, students can take the digital SAT only from the testing center, proctored by the test co-ordinators.
Yes, you can take the digital SAT on your laptop or tablet. You can take your laptop or tablet to the testing center for taking the test.
No, the digital is not an online test. You have to download and install the testing application to take the test.
Total 98 questions on the digital SAT; 54 questions in Reading and Writing section and 44 questions in Math section.
If a student doesn’t have a device, they can request to borrow one from College Board, to use on test day. This applies for students taking the SAT internationally as well as in the U.S.
7 times in a year, the digital SAT is conducted in India.
March, May, Jun, August, October, November and December are the months, the digital SAT is conducted in India.
Algebra, Advanced Math (functions, graphs), Problem solving & Data analysis, Geometry & Trignometry are the topics tested on the digital SAT math section.
Yes, graphing calculator can be used for the digital SAT math section. Either you can take your own calculator or use the calculator available on the testing platform.
Yes, students will be provided scratch paper and can bring a pen or pencil.
Paper pencil SAT takes about two weeks for the scores, while digital SAT scores are expected to be released in days.
The SAT registration fee is $60, plus a $43 regional fee (approximately INR 8300)
No, there is no additional fee for taking the digital SAT.
Yes, there is a timer on the digital SAT testing application, which can be turned off by the student if not required.
The digital SAT score report have the total score, Section scores (Reading and Writing, Math), Percentile rankings and the Benchmark score.
The cross-test score and sub-scores are no more available on the SAT score report.
Bluebook is a testing application from College Board. Students use Bluebook to take the digital SAT and digital AP Exams as well as other College Board exams. Bluebook works in conjunction with Test Day Toolkit, a web app that test center staff use to administer our tests.
